Family Memories

"Xavier had a twin sister. We are not sure which one, but think it may be Anna. Xavier was a bricklayer by trade and he spoke 6 languages: German, Polish, English, Italian, Yiddish (German/Hebrew), and Kashube. His wife may have understood English, but to the day of her death she never spoke it. She spoke only Kashube, which is a German/Polish mixed dialect. She lived with Martha and Larry Kwasniewski until her death and for several years we saw them almost weekly and every New Year's Eve to celebrate Aunt Martha's birthday." - Trudy Murphey
